In 2022, the Dressler family experienced a devastating loss when Kris Dressler, a beloved professor at UW-Madison, passed away from brain cancer. Kris left behind his wife, Leslie, and their two children, Wally and Cece.

Wally and Cece said they wanted to be part of Badger Challenge so other families don’t have to experience the loss they did. Determined to honor his memory and make a difference, Leslie and her children formed Team Dressler to participate in the Badger Challenge. With nearly 100 members, Team Dressler is the largest team participating in the Badger Challenge and has raised over $10,000. The Dressler family is incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support they have received from family, friends, and the community. Their story is a testament to the power of hope, resilience, and the enduring impact of a loved one’s legacy.
